When you choose ABRASIVE BLAST CLEANING as your method of surface preparation you perform two functions at the same time:
- Cleaning the surface.
- Establishing an ANCHOR PATTERN or PROFILE on the surface in order to provide adhesion of the coating to the base metal.
Even the "BEST" coatings in the world will not adhere properly to the surface if it is not properly prepared. Preparation means to clean and establish the degree of Anchor Pattern which is needed so that the coating can "LOCK" onto the surface. With proper Surface Preparation, a good industrial coating once applied onto an Abrasive Blast Cleaned Surface will last up to FOUR times as long as coating applied over ANY other method of Surface Preparation.
